I started my professional life as a student at the University of East Anglia where I gained an honours degree in English and American Literature. I graduated in 1980 and started a new career as a flying instructor in 1981 teaching on light aircraft. I then did my Airline Transport Licence in 1983, flying for Air UK initially from Southampton airport, then joining Dan Air as a co-pilot on the BAC 1-11 in 1985 and finally joining British Airways as a long haul pilot on the Boeing 747 in 1986. I progressed onto the (then) brand new Boeing 747-400 in 1987 and subsequently became an instructor and an examiner on it. I retired from British Airways in 2001.
I had by then bought a Lusitano stallion by the name of Jerico and transported him from Portugal. He was a Grand Prix Dressage horse. I spent the years between 2001 and 2011 riding and training him, and it was then, in 2011 that I began my new journey, initially with Reiki.
Jerico became ill and it was suggested that I found someone to give him Reiki. This I did, it then became apparent that this was something I could be doing myself, so I did my Reiki 1 in March 2011 and very quickly progressed (in May 2011) to doing my Reiki 2. I started out treating animals, then began to treat people and moved on from there to start up a new business called “Sarah’s Reiki Healing” offering just Reiki treatments.
I soon decided to add other skills to my repertoire and trained in full body (Swedish) massage (including ITEC Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology), Indian head massage, Thai foot massage, hot stones massage, natural face lift facial massage, warm bamboo massage, lava shells massage, aromatherapy massage and myofascial release. I also did a teacher training course. Last year (in 2017/18) I did a course in Shamanic healing.
I have been a Reiki Master/Teacher since 2013 and am a member of The Guild of Therapy Lecturers. I have 37 years of experience in teaching.
I also love doing treatments and would love to welcome you to my home for a relaxing treatment of your choice. I am just 1.7 miles from Blandford Forum. There is ample parking space available and consultations are free of charge.
